CIF State Meet Results:

Michael Perry!!!

Michael Perry's historical party has come to a close. But, not before some major celebrating took place. Here's the skinny: Not only did he break the school's long jump record twice; not only did he have an absolutely crazy sequence of jumps; not only was the La Salle faithful, who travel many miles, emotionally drained afterwards; but by the way, Michael finished 3rd in the State meet competition as well. Perry's final mark of 23'02.50" solidifies him as the best all-around track athlete in the school's almost 50 years of track participation. Also, Michael Perry has established himself as the most successful La Salle track athlete of all-time by scoring 6 pts in the State meet.

From the State Meet in Clovis:

Michael Perry makes the State finals

Senior Michael Perry advances from the State prelims to the finals on Friday with a jump of 22' 06.75". The jump, which was the only complete attempt in a series of three, was Michael's second best jump ever. The results were delayed and Perry assumed that the jumpers in the flight after his were better. Close to one hour after the event was closed the marks were published and revealed Michael as the 9th qualifier. By earning a spot in the finals he becomes the first jumper in the school's history to reach this apex of track competition, the California track and field state championships.
